I am a professionally qualified trainer of dogs and have taught dogs general obedience and worked through all sorts of problem behaviours, with great results, both in Australia and overseas. My training method specializes in developing harmonious relationships between owners and their dogs. As well as teaching dogs to be obedient, I train them to be respectful, trusting companions for their owners and families.
Using my proven communications approach between dogs and their owners, I can give you the skills to achieve obedience and good manners from your dog. Once your dog understands this basic approach I can help you work through any of the more complex behavioural problems you feel your dog may have.
As a fully qualified Behavioural Scientist, my coaching experience also allows me to help dog owners change the way they are relating to their dog. I often find that offering support and guidance to troubled dog owners is just as important as training their troubled dogs! So let me help here too.
I come to your home and help you and your dog in real time, in real situations, including on walks, in parks, and even over a coffee with your dog at a local café if required. I do this at times that suit you and your family, addressing and fixing the problems where they exist. And, as a backup to training, many handouts are provided.
My preference is not to assist your dog to learn new behaviours with the aid of food treats, but to help you relate and bond with your dog using only what nature has already provided you with – variations in the tone of your voice and how you position yourself in relation to your dog.
The results are amazing and can be quick too.
When you are confident that you can continue training on your own, I offer a followup some months later to check on your progress and refresh your leadership approach technique if needed. Training tips are regularly posted on my Facebook page to keep you inspired.
I know and love dogs and I know people, and find my profession hugely rewarding.
Wherever I go, I do my best to assist dogs and their owners. I have trained dogs while holidaying overseas and also have helped owners via ZOOM, SKYPE and EMAIL.
To meet new dog owners, and be allowed to train their dogs, I think is always a very great privilege. For me, each new dog is a warmly welcomed training challenge, with their owners nearly always becoming new friends in the process.
