Thanks to Alessina, our Rhodesian Ridgeback puppy Leo had the best start in life. We contacted Alessina when we first picked him up at 8 weeks old. Being our first dog Alessina made sure our house was setup up safely, highlighted all the foods Leo can and cannot eat as well as how to introduce him to children. Her training techniques have taught us how to calm Leo down when he gets overly excited, how to walk him properly on lead and most importantly how to get along with our 10 year old cat. Alessina changed how we understand our cheeky friend!
With a goal to understand our four legged friend, Alessina has made communication with her simple and effective. Her method is robust and well designed. Very happy with her friendly approach and dedicated mindset that made us a happy family.

My Cocker Spaniel, Jin Jin, is a very happy and strong willed puppy. After doing quite a lot of research, I selected a puppy school and then followed up with some private training by two organisations. Despite this and trying the tips the breeder provided, I still had a very naughty, headstrong and largely disobedient puppy that was causing me great anxiety and stress.

I contacted Alessina who responded very quickly – she wasn’t the only trainer I left messages with – and we arranged a time within two days. I was keen to develop an approach that was not treat based and focused on building a trusting relationship between us, rather than using fear based techniques that had been suggested by other trainers. Alessina provided both the training tips as well as the explaining the fundamentals of her training methodology. Understanding the psychology both from a human and dog perspective made it very easy to implement. Throughout the training period both Jin Jin and I have made significant progress and while we are still learning, I now have a ready source of tools to deal with whatever behaviour might occur.

It's clear that Alessina is passionate about creating trusting relationships between owners and their dogs. She made it fun for both of us and provided me with a gentle yet effective training regime that Jin Jin continues to respond to.

Alessina has come to my house twice now to work with my partner and I around how to be our dogs pack leader. Her strategies are simple to follow and just make sense. She provides the strategies in writing so we can refer to them as needed. Alessina’s explanations are very clear and always relate back to what our dog needs to feel calm and happy. It’s an ongoing process for us but we can already see changes in our dog’s behaviour. Most of all I love that Alessina doesn’t just train for obedience, she trains for companionship too.

I am writing this testimonial to thank Alessina for all her work with Keeley, my American Staffordshire Terrier. Keeley, a rescue dog, had a history of abuse and was very anxious and suspicious of strangers before Alessina began training her. In the four lessons my family and I had, Alessina listened to our concerns about Keeley's anxiety, leadership issues, and socialising difficulties. She addressed each problem with simple but incredibly effective techniques and helped us understand Keeley's behaviour from a dog's point of view! By the end of the fourth lesson, Keeley had learned to trust and engage with Alessina and this behaviour change was profound!

Alessina touched base with us several times between training sessions to check on our progress and will follow up in a few months to reassess our dog's behaviour. Keeley has come an awfully long way and responded so well to Alessina's training methods! She has thankfully become a different dog!

Alessina Brooks helped us tremendously with our Kelpie, “Sandy”. Sandy was a rescue dog and we had a problem when she was on the lead, wanting to cross the road at certain times during her walk.
