Over a cocktail one summer evening, Alessina, a neighbor, explained that she was now training dogs. It didn’t take a minute for my wife Mary and I to agree to allow her to “have a go” at our two untrained dogs, Coco, a chocolate Labrador and Ruby, our recently acquired chocolate Kelpie (who definitely needed some obedience training!). Alessina spent several evening sessions with Mary, teaching her how to relate to the dogs in a calm confident manner using voice only. The dogs learned to sit on command, drop on command and walk without pulling on the lead. As I am the one who usually walks the dogs, I was delighted to take the dogs to the local park with Alessina and see that on command the dogs dropped and stayed in position. This was an amazing achievement for dogs that had previously known no obedient behaviors. I have no hesitation in recommending Alessina’s training and teaching skills; they are gentle and not coercive.

We really enjoyed working with you. Before you came, we were getting very concerned about some of Buffy’s (Labradoodle) behavior around the house. We learned some great techniques for settling her down, particularly the ‘drop’ command, which we’ll continue to work on, especially when she’s showing a bit too much interest in visitors! Buffy settles much more quickly now when people visit the house and we’re really pleased we can finally see a way forward with her. She’s a wonderful dog and we were so glad you were able to help us.

I would just like to say firstly, thank you for taking the time to call me before we met, you are the only person that bothered. Also, a huge thank you for what you taught me about dogs. The way they learn, smell and see. My dog Cookie (Maltese x Shih tzu)has turned from a gorgeous scatterbrain to an adorable well mannered young lady. She is much more calm and focused, a real pleasure to have in my life. I had no idea how to train her and you have shown me all the fundamentals of training and have given me the confidence to do that efficiently. With voice commands and not treats you have taught me to be the alpha dog. I would recommend you to anyone that has a dog, be it a puppy or adult, you are a real credit to dog trainers.

Alessina assisted me with behavioural management with my 2 dogs, Russell, a Pug x and Oscar, a Jack Russell. Alessina’s approach was considered and effective. I was impressed how quickly my dogs responded to Alessina’s commands and how easy it was to establish boundaries without the use of treats. I would highly recommend Alessina for her professionalism, knowledge and ability to control dogs with minimal disturbance.
